So, I resolved my pillar problem. I found some wrought iron plant stands that would work great for the outdoor airy location at the amazing Talkeetna Lodge. I painted them white (it took about 1 million coats!) and was a very cost effective way to handle this dilemma. Once I priced out the lumber and time it would have taken to build the pillars it just didn’t make any economical sense to do it that way. I will keep it in mind for any wedding that is very posh though.
This wedding however was sweet and beautiful. The location at the Talkeetna Lodge couldn’t be more breathtaking on this July day. The weather, usually quite fussy and unpredictable in Alaska, was gorgeous. The recent hazy smoke seemed to clear around the area just for this day.
The flowers turned out amazing and were just the right color to enhance the warm wood tones of the lodge as well as compliment the Denver Broncos color themed wedding
The flowers came off without a hitch and bride, groom and family all seemed pleased with the result.

I think I will photograph the process for the next wedding this week and put it up. So stay tuned!!

I’m a floral designer; there are about a thousand things I would love to share with Brides to help them be better shoppers, better do it yourselfers and a whole lot less stressed out! I want to give you the inside track on tips, tricks, trends and why the heck it all costs so much.
